Chapel asks national NAACP to review state group’s election
Thursday, October 6, 2011
Nimrod (Rod) Chapel Jr. wants the NAACP’s national field directors to “conduct a new election” for the Missouri NAACP’s state officers.
Chapel, president of the Jefferson City branch, lost the Sept. 24 election for state president to veteran incumbent Mary Ratliff of Columbia by one vote, 29-28.
But his 6-page petition lists a number of problems he said violated the group’s national Constitution and procedures.
