Five years ago, Abbe Meyers could not have named any of the princesses from Walt Disney animated films. Today, she watches those movies regularly with her daughter Mia, 4.
"Her room is nothing but princesses," said Mia's dad, Ed.
For Ed, 60, and Abbe, 51, Mia is their own miracle princess.
"Since having Mia, I don't like to reflect or look back much," Abbe said. "I'm at a point in my life when I just want to look forward." Ed agreed, "there's too much baggage behind us."
After 15 years of marriage, Abbe's first husband died of a heart attack when she was age 40.
Less than three years later, Ed's first wife died in a car accident on Christmas Eve.
