Missouri Democratic Party elects Sanders chairman

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Jackson County Executive Mike Sanders is the new leader of the state Democratic party.

The Missouri Democratic State Committee on Saturday unanimously elected Sanders as party's new chairman. He had no competition for the post.

St. Louis City Comptroller Darlene Green was elected vice-chair and Bob Levine will be the party's committeeman.

Sanders will succeed Susan Montee, the former state auditor who is running for lieutenant governor.
