Lawsuit alleges co-op's manager watched porn

MARSHFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A former employee of a southwest Missouri electric cooperative alleges in a lawsuit that the utility's general manager created a hostile environment by openly watching pornography in his office.

J. Michelle Luebbert says in a lawsuit filed Friday that she was fired after she complained about general manager Thomas Houston watching the pornography. She is suing Houston, the utility and the utility's board.

The Springfield News-Leader reports (http://sgfnow.co/ursefi) that an attorney for the board said the board was investigating Luebbert's claims.

Luebbert, who worked at the cooperative since 2002, said in her lawsuit that the day before she was fired, she was offered a settlement to keep quiet about the pornography.

Houston's attorney denied the allegations and said that the lawsuit does not accurately reflect why Luebbert was fired.
