Fatima finishes fourth in Class 1

BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — Ever since Fatima lost to John F. Kennedy in the state quarterfinals a season ago, the Comets vowed to take it a step further this year. They did.

Even though Fatima lost 2-0 to St. Pius X: Festus in the Class 1 third-place game Saturday afternoon at Blue Springs High School, spirits were still high. The Comets had accomplished something no other team in program history had done before.

“That’s killer,” Fatima coach Kirby Keth said of this team reaching the Final Four.
