Santa and his entourage were pulled by their eight "lighted" reindeer aboard a long-bed trailer and had a fun day visiting with children and families who attended the Christmas Festival and Parade.

The usual were in tow - elf costumes, Santa hats and garland trimmed floats, trucks and tractors. However, visitors saw some additional familiar sights brought to life by those community members who participated in the annual Christmas parade Saturday afternoon in downtown Eldon.

From children acting like their tongue got stuck to a frozen flagpole to well-known sayings such as "Oh Fudge," "Soap Poisoning" and "You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" adorned in colorful Christmas posters, parade goers kicked off the holiday season in Eldon to this year's parade theme, "A Christmas Story." The popular, classic holiday movie set the scene for the many floats, bands, civic organizations, antique tractors, politicians, churches and others who joined in the more than 50 parade participants.
