RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Jhonas Enroth made 34 saves for his first shutout of the season, leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 1-0 win over the reeling Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.

Jason Pominville scored for Buffalo, which lost top goalie Ryan Miller to a concussion Nov. 12.

Enroth, the team's second-round draft pick in 2006, earned his second career shutout.

Carolina has lost seven of eight to sink to the bottom of the Southeast Division standings.

Backup goalie Brian Boucher made 19 saves for the Hurricanes while starting in place of Cam Ward. Boucher has yet to win this season.

AVALANCHE 3, STARS 0

DENVER (AP) - Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 24 shots for his first shutout in two seasons as Colorado beat slumping Dallas.

Paul Stastny and Chuck Kobasew each had a goal and Matt Duchene scored into an empty net with 4.5 seconds left to snap Colorado's three-game skid. The Avalanche won for the third time in 10 home games.

Giguere's last shutout was against Ottawa on Feb. 6, 2010, with Anaheim.

Kari Lehtonen had 42 saves for Dallas, which has lost four straight.

FLAMES 5, BLACKHAWKS 2

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Curtis Glencross had two goals and an assist to lift Calgary over Chicago.

Lee Stempniak, Rene Bourque and Paul Byron also scored for the Flames, who set a season high for goals and improved to 5-0 when netting four or more. Miikka Kiprusoff made 30 saves.

Viktor Stahlberg and Marian Hossa had goals for the Blackhawks.

Calgary scored twice in a 17-second span at the start of the second period to take a 3-1 lead.
