School board to set candidate filing dates, hear reports
Sunday, November 13, 2011
Jefferson City’s Board of Education on Monday will set the official candidate filing dates for anyone wanting to be a board member.
By state law, filing will begin Dec. 13 and end at 5 p.m. Jan. 17 — the day after the national Martin Luther King holiday.
The two board seats to be filled next April now are held by first-term incumbents Alan Mudd, the current board president, and Joy Sweeney, the current vice president.
Neither has said, yet, if they plan to seek re-election.
