Alleging a lengthy delay by Cole County Prosecutor Mark Richardson and his office, Alyssa Bustamante's attorneys on Monday asked for "additional time to endorse further witnesses ... until ten days after the State files a formal response to Alyssa's Request(s) for Discovery."
Bustamante, now 17, faces first-degree murder and armed criminal action charges for the Oct. 21, 2009, killing of neighbor Elizabeth Olten, 9. Her trial will be held in Jefferson City after a jury is picked in Greene County, starting Sept. 13.
