Helias cruises to victory with Monson

CAMDENTON, Mo. – Blake Monson picked a perfect time to pitch his best game of the season.

Monson, a Helias junior, went the distance Monday afternoon to lead the Crusaders to a 7-2 victory over the Marshfield Blue Jays in the opening round of the Class 4 District 10 Tournament.

With the win, Helias (14-7) advances to take on Camdenton in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The host Lakers, the No. 6 seed, upended third-seeded Rolla 5-1 in Monday’s first game.
