YMCA official confident fundraiser topped goal
Monday, March 28, 2011
The YMCA’s annual Puttin’ on the Ritz fundraiser drew 292 people to Saturday night’s event at the Firley YMCA.
Amounts raised from tickets sales, raffles and the live and silent auctions haven’t been finalized on Sunday, but YMCA Development Director Shelly Poire said the event went well.
“Our goal is $80,000, and I feel fairly confident we’ve reached that goal,” she said.
Money raised goes toward the YMCA’s Outreach Fund, which subsidizes memberships and programs for people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford them. Primarily the money goes to child care, either at the YMCA’s daycare or child care before and after school, she said.
