KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - NFL star Chad Ochocinco says he is chasing a lifelong dream while trying out with Kansas City's MSL soccer team.
Ochocinco's four-day trial period with Sporting Kansas City began Wednesday. He's taking part in a training session but details of how long he'll be on the field or what he'll be asked to do have not been released. The tryout is closed to the public.
Ochocinco, wide receiver with the Cincinnati Bengals, is a six-time Pro Bowler. He started playing soccer when he was 4 years old but quit in high school to focus on football.
He told local media that he doesn't expect the trial to be easy. But he says with the NFL lockout in progress, it was a good time to pursue another sport.
