Sunday's NBA Capsules

HOUSTON (AP) - Kyle Lowry had 28 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Houston's first triple-double of the season, and the Rockets moved past Utah in the Western Conference standings with a 110-108 victory over the Jazz on Sunday night.

Lowry notched his first career triple-double and set a career high in rebounds, and Kevin Martin scored 34 points for the Rockets, who slid into the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference, a half-game ahead of the Jazz.

Houston also moved within 1 1/2 games of idle Memphis in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. Utah visits Memphis on Monday.

Paul Millsap, back after missing five games with left knee tendinitis, scored 35 points, and Al Jefferson had 17 points and 19 rebounds for the Jazz.

Houston has won four in a row. The Jazz have dropped seven of their last nine road games.

Lakers 84, Trail Blazers 80

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Kobe Bryant scored 10 of his 22 points in a dynamic fourth quarter, and Los Angeles rallied in the final three minutes for its 12th win in 13 games.

Derek Fisher made back-to-back steals to put the Lakers ahead before hitting a clinching jumper with 10 seconds left. Bryant did the rest despite his sprained ankle and sore jaw, highlighted by a picture-perfect fallaway jumper with 32 seconds to play.

The Lakers played without starting center Andrew Bynum, who was suspended two games by the NBA on Sunday for his flagrant foul on Minnesota's Michael Beasley two days earlier.

Nicolas Batum scored 22 of his 25 points in the first three quarters for the Blazers.

Raptors 95, Thunder 93

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Amir Johnson made a layup with 1.4 seconds left to help Toronto stop a 14-game road losing streak

Andrea Bargnani scored 23 points for the Raptors, who earned their first road win since Jan. 5 at Cleveland.

Oklahoma City entered with a six-game winning streak and overcame a 10-point deficit at the end of the third to take a 93-90 lead with 1:31 left. But Leandro Barbosa made a tying 3-pointer with 38.5 seconds left, and he assisted on Johnson's shot.

James Harden scored 23 points for the Thunder, including eight during their fourth-quarter rally.

Bucks 100, Knicks 95

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Carlos Delfino scored a career-high 30 points and Brandon Jennings finished an assist short of a triple-double, leading Milwaukee to the win.

Jennings had 14 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists, and the Bucks built a 23-point first-quarter lead only to watch it evaporate in a half-court struggle.

Milwaukee is tied with Charlotte for ninth place in the Eastern Conference, a game and a half behind Indiana for the final spot in the playoffs.

New York is stumbling toward mediocrity after losing five of the last six. The Knicks are 7-8 since trading for Carmelo Anthony, who had 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

The Knicks never got a chance to tie it in the final seconds despite desperation 3s by Anthony and Landry Fields that twice cut the lead to three points.

Suns 108, Clippers 99

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Steve Nash had 23 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds, Channing Frye added 19 points and Phoenix grabbed control early in the fourth quarter.

Frye hit two of his five 3-pointers in the final minutes of his second game back from a dislocated right shoulder.

Blake Griffin scored 17 points for the Clippers, who have lost three of four. Chris Kaman had 21 points and 11 rebounds while starting for DeAndre Jordan, who sat out with pneumonia.

After Phoenix broke open a tight game by scoring the first eight points of the fourth, Griffin fouled out when he rattled home a jaw-dropping, one-handed dunk over Marcin Gortat, who appeared to be moving on the play with 4:09 left. The rookie All-Star then got a technical foul for holding onto the ball in disbelief after referee Steve Javie's call.

Mavericks 101, Warriors 73

DALLAS (AP) - Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points and Peja Stojakovic added 17, helping the Mavericks get back on track.

Stojakovic returned from a six-game absence due to a stiff neck and went 5 for 8 from behind the 3-point arc, supplying the long-distance threat Dallas has been missing.

Rodrigue Beaubois had 15 points, Tyson Chandler pulled down 17 rebounds and Ian Mahinmi collected 13 boards for the Mavericks, who had lost four of six.

Monta Ellis had 18 points for the Warriors, who have lost four straight.

Hawks 104, Pistons 96

ATLANTA (AP) - Al Horford scored 18 points, Josh Smith and Joe Johnson each added 17, and Atlanta stopped a two-game slide.

Rodney Stuckey missed two jump shots in the final 1:14 but still led the Pistons with 22 points in a reserve role. Reserve forward Chris Wilcox added 18 and Greg Monroe scored 17 for Detroit, which has lost seven straight on the road and is 7-28 away from home.

Smith banked in a left-handed runner over Austin Daye with 52.1 seconds left, beating the shot-clock buzzer and giving the Hawks a 100-95 lead.

Horford also finished with 10 rebounds for his 32nd double-double.

Kings 127, Timberwolves 95

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Samuel Dalembert had 26 points and 17 rebounds and Marcus Thornton added 23 points to lead Sacramento to the victory.

Kings rookie DeMarcus Cousins was ejected in the third quarter after shoving Martell Webster, but the Kings went on a 21-0 run without him. The Kings picked up their 17th win of the season, tying them with the Wolves for fewest in the West.

Luke Ridnour scored 22 points for the Wolves, who played most of the game without All-Star Kevin Love. He left in the second quarter with an injured left groin and finished with three rebounds and no points in 14 minutes.

Michael Beasley scored 13 points, but played just 14 minutes while still dealing with a sore left hip from a flagrant foul committed by the Lakers' Andrew Bynum on Friday.

Wizards 98, Nets 92

WASHINGTON (AP) - John Wall scored 26 points and Washington overcame a 17-point deficit to get the win.

After New Jersey's Kris Humphries scored five straight points to tie it at 90 with 1:44 left, Wall hit a jumper with 1:22 left and another with 46.5 remaining for a 94-90 lead.

Jordan Crawford added 21 points for the Wizards, who snapped a six-game losing streak. JaVale McGee had 16 and Maurice Evans finished with 15 points.

Washington trailed 56-39 just before halftime, but Wall scored the last four points of the first half.

Brook Lopez had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Nets, who have lost three straight. Humphries had 18 points and 17 boards.

New Jersey was playing without Deron Williams, who will miss at least the next three games with an injured right wrist.
