Chamois falls to La Plata in Class 1 quarterfinal

MOBERLY, Mo. — The second quarter of Saturday’s Class 1 quarterfinal game was only eight minutes, but it seemed like much, much longer for the Chamois Pirates.

The Pirates struggled through a disastrous second period in their contest with the La Plata Bulldogs, committing 11 turnovers that turned the tide of the game.

The Bulldogs put together a 25-9 scoring edge in that stanza and used it to propel them into the Final Four, as they went on to beat the Pirates 68-53 at Moberly Area Community College.
