A Jefferson City man is charged with resisting arrest and assaulting law officers while being taken into custody Friday at a local financial facility.

Randy Deppe, 33, 2215 E. Ridge Road, tried to flee from police officers as he was being taken into custody at River Region Credit Union on Eastland Drive.

A police department probable cause statement shows Deppe had two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest.

I'm shocked! He looks like such a fine, upstanding young man.

That east side of Jefferson City needs some major sweeps to get the riff-raff out. Seems all the crime in this town happens on the East End.

Lifer has been chewing on the east side of town since his puppy teeth came in . . . it's a bit dark over there apparently . . .

I can unequivocally say that Joe G's statement is completely and utterly false. However, I will defend his right to assert this delusion on this forum to my death. -- Rick Brown, online editor, News Tribune

Try posting your comments again (not naming who), but please don't bypass the profanity filter in doing so. Thank you.

I'll enjoy a little snicker over the picture question. I don't know what online paper he thinks he is reading but it sure isn't the one Rick Brown edits. He's fair and equal to all; no matter where you live. I'm having a good laugh on this one.

I beg your pardon -- that's the upper east side in case you weren't aware. I guess Joe thinks any crime that takes place irregardless of location...to him its the east side. How funny and ignorant..

I for one, can think of several recent crimes that occurred on the "west" end, as well as perps residing there, and were publicized. Be honest here, our city has it's trash in every corner and in the middle.

Our city has its trash in every corner and in the middle, but JCPD focus on catching speeders and parking violators since that is where the revenue is.

Meanwhile JC just goes down the toilet as more and more druggies and thugs and crooks set up shop here.
