AUGUSTA - Eldon's Matt Miller is the only area player alive in the Missouri Amateur Championship after Thursday's first round of match play eliminated Jefferson City's Gerald Siemons and Westphalia's Alex Knoll.
Miller advanced to today's Round of 32 by beating Kevin McLaughlin of St. Louis 5 and 4 at Boone Valley Golf Club.
Miller took an early led when McLaughlin double-bogeyed the opening hole, but a bogey by Miller on the second hole squared the match.
Miller then won the next three holes to go ....
