A possible delay in opening the new Cole County Jail on or after July 9 has apparently been avoided.
At a County Commission meeting Wednesday, Mike Smith with Septagon Construction, the jail project manager, said a new motor for the generator at the jail was scheduled be shipped out today.
This comes after a mechanical problem occurred in the motor that had been installed.
