HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. -- Some Boy Scouts may not be able to go on a camping trip they are planning for next month unless the trailer that has their supplies in it is found.
Officials with Boy Scout Troop 9 are not sure when the theft of the trailer occurred, but it was reported to the Holts Summit Police Department on Thursday.
The trailer was last located at 1053 S. Summit Drive. Troop leaders said all of the Scouts' camping equipment - including coolers, tents, lanterns, a propane tank and cook stoves - was inside the trailer.
The trailer is described as a white enclosed Doolittle trailer, approximately 10 feet long, 6 feet wide and 5 feet tall.
Troop leaders said the trailer looks like a construction trailer, so whoever took it may have thought there were tools and equipment inside. The trailer does have Boy Scout Troop 9 painted on the back.
"There are only seven members in the troop," troop leader Goldie Holzer said. "This incident has hit the boys hard."
