The Cole County Commission has directed the county's public works officials to get engineering help in an effort to come up with a plan for property the county took control of after an emergency situation in 2009.
"Residents just want something to happen," said Erik Thomas, who lives by Renns Lake and was among a small group of residents at the meeting.
The commission last year accepted the deed to transfer the lake to the county from the Renn family and breach the dam on the property, after county crews and volunteers kept it from collapsing in late 2009 during a period of heavy rainfall.
