Jefferson City police, fire personnel continue helping in Joplin

More than a week after the tornado in Joplin, a number of emergency personnel from Jefferson City are continuing to provide assistance with the disaster efforts.

Per the request of the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), six Jefferson City police officers were sent to Joplin May 25 to assist with duties such as security, traffic control and access control to the disaster area.
