JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - First-round draft pick Blaine Gabbert, Jacksonville's quarterback of the future, has signed with the Jaguars.
The 10th overall pick in April's NFL draft signed a four-year contract worth $12 million. The deal is fully guaranteed and has an option for a fifth year.
Gabbert arrived in the middle of Thursday night's practice and completed his only pass attempt.
The Jaguars gave up their first- and second-round picks in a trade with the Washington Redskins to move up and acquire the former Missouri standout. Because of the NFL lockout, he likely will spend the year learning behind starter David Garrard.
