Crowds, interest seemed to grow in succeeding weeks, officials say

After five weeks of big crowds and few problems, those who supported the development of a festival district in downtown Jefferson City hope city leaders see fit to make it a more common happening.

The district allows event sponsors — who apply for a special permit — to let patrons consume alcoholic beverages on city streets during special events.
