Lady Jays claim tournament crown

ST. LOUIS — The Jefferson City Lady Jays overcame an early deficit Saturday to defeat Kirkwood 54-48 in the title game of the Queen of Hearts Tournament.

Kirkwood jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the opening two minutes before Jefferson City found its footing.

“They knocked us on our heels,” Lady Jays coach Shane Meyer said. “But we were able to regroup.”
