Lady Jays advance in tournament

ST. LOUIS — The Jefferson City Lady Jays used a 21-2 opening quarter and romped to a 61-17 win over Lutheran North in the first round of the Queen of Hearts Tournament on Thursday.

Amanda Brenneke led the way for the Lady Jays, scoring 11 points.

Jefferson City (13-5) held a 36-11 lead at the half and outscored Lutheran North 16-2 in the third quarter to lead 52-13 heading into the final frame.
