3 charged in fatal St. Louis area robbery

AFFTON, Mo. (AP) - Three people are in custody in St. Louis County, charged in the fatal stabbing of a man inside a home that was being robbed.

The prosecutor's office identifies the suspects as 33-year-old Sandra Medert, of Arnold; her brother, 29-year-old Kenneth Medert, of Barnhart; and 19-year-old Matthew Angle-Marshall, of Arnold. All three were arrested on warrants issued Sunday charging them with second-degree murder and other offenses.

Police say 64-year-old Dennis Price, of De Soto, was found dead Friday night in the Affton home of a 61-year-old friend. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the friend was shot and stabbed but was expected to survive.

Authorities say Sandra Medert had been to the home previously, and the two men were attacked as the male suspects were trying to rob it.

Court records did not list attorneys for the suspects.
