CVB to add theme MSP tours

The distinctive history harbored at the Missouri State Penitentiary will soon be enhanced by a diversified cadre of tours.

The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau received approval from the state Office of Administration to further expand its tour program at the 175-year-old site.

The third tour season will open March 1 with specialty emphasis options added to the existing historic tours.

“Every tour will have a historical component,” said bureau executive director Steve Picker. “Our goal is not to trivialize anything about MSP.”
