Salvation Army collections surpass goal
Thursday, January 13, 2011
From sitting way behind its Tree of Lights Kettle Campaign goal at the end of December to surpassing it by more than $21,000 as of Wednesday, the Salvation Army in Jefferson City was humbled and appreciative of the community’s support.
“The Army has never received that much from the red kettles in this community,” said Maj. K. Kendall Mathews, regional coordinator. “That really speaks to the trust and confidence the community has in the Salvation Army’s services.”
The 2009 campaign goal was $190,000, and the 2010 goal had been $223,000.
