Contract approved to build highway at Lake

The Missouri Highway Commission gave approval Wednesday to a contract for a new four-lane highway in the Lake of the Ozarks area, starting later this month.

An $8,337,512.67 contract was awarded to Bloomsdale Excavating Co. Inc., Bloomsdale, the low bidder, to build the road from U.S. 54 to the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge and to the existing Horseshoe Bend Parkway.

Also Wednesday, the highway commission gave approval to build a new Missouri 94 bridge over Auxvasse Creek in southeastern Callaway County.
