Kids are eating their broccoli — even looking forward to it.

Healthy snacks like cubes of cantaloupes or florets of cauliflower are welcomed enthusiastically into classrooms at Jefferson City's South Elementary School three days per week.

“I like cantaloupe; it’s juicy and sweet,” said fifth-grader Paige Ireland. “(The snack) gets me energized; helps me think better and stuff.”

HELLO JCPS! lets all get on this band wagon! i know i would LOVE that my daughter could eat stuff like that during the day, instead of fries and stuff. i dont mind that stuff every once in awhile, but they need other healthy options in school. AND MORE P.E!!!
