JERICO SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) - An 84-year-old southwest Missouri man no longer faces charges in the fatal shooting of another man.
Cedar County Judge Joseph Phillips last week dismissed charges of first-degree murder, armed criminal action and assault against Sam Harris of Jerico Springs.
Harris' attorney, John Kizer, told The Springfield News-Leader on Monday that charges were dropped because Harris acted in self-defense when he shot 34-year-old Patrick Cox April 20 during an argument at Harris' home.
