Bridge in NW Missouri closing for work

BROWNVILLE, Neb. (AP) - Missouri and Nebraska transportation officials plan to close the U.S. Highway 136 bridge over the Missouri River for construction work the weekend of March 4-6.

The closure will block traffic on U.S. Highway 136 between the southeast Nebraska town of Brownville and the northwest Missouri towns of Phelps City and Rock Port.

The departments say the bridge will close at 6 p.m. March 4 and reopen at 6:30 a.m. March 6.

Weather permitting, the contractor will be pouring concrete on the bridge deck.
