EMPORIA, Kan. — The Emporia State Hornets responded to a second-half run by the Lincoln Blue Tigers with one of their own and captured a 84-70 victory Saturday night.

The back-and-forth first half featured eight ties, and the biggest lead for either team was an eight-point edge for the Hornets at 36-28.
