COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Patrick Marleau scored from a sharp angle with 4:51 left to lift San Jose to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.
The Sharks have earned at least one point in 10 straight games (9-0-1).
Kent Huskins and Kyle Wellwood also scored for the Sharks, who have won five straight. Antti Niemi made 42 saves.
Marleau had an assist to go with his goal, and Pavelski had two assists as the Sharks rallied from a 2-0 deficit. The Blue Jackets had applied most of the pressure in the third period before Marleau's goal, outshooting the Sharks 16-9 in the period and 44-32 overall.
Kristian Huselius and Grant Clitsome had first-period, power-play goals for the Blue Jackets, who had won three in a row.
Bruins 8, Canadiens 6
BOSTON (AP) - Milan Lucic scored twice in a wild second period, and Nathan Horton had a goal and four assists for Boston as the Bruins outslugged and outlasted Montreal.
All-Star Tim Thomas allowed a season-high six goals, making up for an off-night in the net by squaring off with Montreal counterpart Carey Price during a second-period fight that left the penalty boxes overflowing and the ice littered with equipment.
Michael Ryder had two goals, and Brad Marchand, Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid also scored for Boston, which beat its Original Six rival for the first time this season. David Krejci had three assists.
Max Pacioretty scored two of Montreal's four power play goals, and Brian Gionta scored his 200th NHL goal as the Canadiens lost in regulation for just the third time in 10 games.
P.K. Subban, Yannick Weber and David Desharnais added goals for Montreal.
Predators 4, Red Wings 1
DETROIT (AP) - Martin Erat scored the first of Nashville's four goals to chase Jimmy Howard, and Pekka Rinne made 34 saves to beat Detroit.
David Legwand gave Nashville a two-goal lead in the first period. Colin Wilson scored early in the second and Sergei Kostitsyn made it 4-0 midway through the period to end Howard's night.
Howard got pulled after giving up four goals on 16 shots and was replaced by Joey MacDonald.
The Red Wings avoided getting shut out for the third time in four games late in the second when Ruslan Salei scored for the first time this season in his 53rd game with Detroit.
The Central Division-leading Red Wings had their cushion over second-place Nashville cut to five points.
Nashville had lost five of six with the lone win coming against Detroit 3-0 on Saturday night.
Wild 3, Avalanche 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Niklas Backstrom turned in another strong performance with 23 saves, and Minnesota hung on to beat crumbling Colorado.
Antti Miettinen, Martin Havlat and John Madden scored for the Wild, who overcame a two-goal game by David Jones. The Avalanche, still waiting on Peter Forsberg's visa clearance, played without captain Adam Foote and lost another defenseman, Kyle Cumiskey, to a head injury in the first period.
The Avalanche fell to 3-8 in their last 11 games, and Craig Anderson lost his sixth straight start, giving up 21 goals over those games. He was pulled in the second period for Peter Budaj.
Backstrom improved to 16-4-2 in 22 starts against the Avalanche. He has given up two goals or less in five of six starts, with wins in four.
Coyotes 3, Stars 2, OT
DALLAS (AP) - Radim Vrbata scored a power-play goal at 1:13 of overtime to lift Phoenix over Dallas and extend the Stars' losing streak to a season-high four games.
Dallas' Jamie Langenbrunner was penalized for tripping with 19 seconds left in regulation, and Vrbata capitalized with a wrist shot from low in the right circle.
Michal Rozsival had a power-play goal, Mikkel Boedker scored the tying goal in the third period, and Ilya Bryzgalov made 16 saves as the Coyotes won their third in a row.
Brad Richards had to wait a few anxious minutes before his 22nd goal was confirmed on video review. Kari Lehtonen stopped 32 shots for Dallas.
Steve Ott also scored for the Stars, 1-5-1 in their past seven.
Blackhawks 4, Oilers 1
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Patrick Kane scored twice and Chicago snapped a two-game losing streak with a victory over Edmonton.
Patrick Sharp and Brian Bickell also scored for the Blackhawks, who have won just two of six.
Jordan Eberle had the lone goal for the Oilers, who have lost five of six and 19 of 23.
Ducks 4, Canucks 3
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Bobby Ryan scored twice and Curtis McElhinney made 34 saves as Anaheim snapped Vancouver's six-game winning streak.
Jason Blake opened the scoring 56 seconds in, Brandon McMillan doubled the lead 3:26 into the second period, and Ryan scored his first goal 46 seconds later as Anaheim won for the fourth time in five games.
Daniel Sedin, Alex Burrows, with his 100th NHL goal, and Ryan Kesler, scored for the Canucks, who lost in regulation for the first time in 10 games. It was Vancouver's third regulation defeat in 30 games over two-plus months.
Flames 5, Senators 2
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - Tim Jackman scored twice and Anton Babchuk had a goal and two assists in Calgary's victory over Ottawa.
Olli Jokinen and Curtis Glencross each had a goal and an assist for Calgary, which has won eight of nine (8-0-1).
Playing in his 800th NHL game, Robyn Regehr chipped in with two assists.
Chris Kelly and Chris Campoli scored for Ottawa, which led 2-1 after the first period. The Senators have lost five straight in regulation and 11 overall (0-9-2). Ottawa is 1-13-4 in its past 18 games.
