Westminster exhibit lauds female Jewish veterans

A new exhibit opening later this month at mid-Missouri's Westminster College is dedicated to Jewish women who served in the military.

The exhibit, "Women in the Military: A Jewish Perspective," runs Feb. 14 through March 14 at the National Churchill Museum on the school's campus in Fulton.

Organizers say the exhibit not only tells the story of the barriers faced by women in the military, but the hurdles they also had to overcome because they were Jewish.

The exhibit was created by The National Museum of American Jewish Military History in Washington, D.C. It features female war heroes as part of an effort to show the vital contributions they made in America over the years.

The National Churchill Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
