WACO, Texas (AP) — Brittney Griner scored 29 points and Destiny Williams added 19 points and 11 rebounds to help top-ranked Baylor rout No. 13 Oklahoma 92-70 on Wednesday night.
Melissa Jones added 14 points while Odyssey Sims had 10 for the Lady Bears (20-1, 7-0 Big 12).
Williams scored nine in the first five minutes of the game, including five in a row that gave Baylor a 13-2 lead with 15:30 to play, forcing Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale to call a time out. Baylor held a 17-4 advantage before Griner even scored.
It was Baylor’s first game since edging Texas A&M by three on Jan. 30 — the only game Baylor has won by just single digits. Baylor, which leads the country winning by nearly 31 points a game, turned it into a rout quickly.
The Lady Bears led Oklahoma by as many as 40, taking a 68-28 advantage with 11:52 remaining.
Aaryn Ellenberg scored 27 and Danielle Robinson had 25 points for No. 13 Oklahoma (16-5, 6-2).
No. 15 North Carolina 84, No. 19 Florida State 75
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Jessica Breland scored 16 of her game-high 22 points in the second half and Waltiea Rolle was perfect on 12 free throws and finished with 18 points, leading North Carolina to a win over Florida State.
The Tar Heels (20-3, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) shot 50 percent from the floor and made 22 of 25 free throws
Cetera Degraffenreid added 14 points and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt 11 for North Carolina, which snapped a two-game losing streak to the Seminoles.
Freshman Natasha Howard and Chelsea Davis scored 15 points each for Florida State (18-5, 6-2 ACC) while Cierra Bravard and Courtney Ward added 11 apiece. Howard had a game-high eight rebounds.
The Tar Heels wiped out a 29-22 deficit midway through the opening half to take a 43-41 lead on Ruffin-Pratt’s layup as the halftime buzzer sounded.
No. 22 Iowa State 79, Oklahoma State 59
AMES, Iowa (AP) — Kelsey Bolte bounced back from her worst shooting game of the season with 20 points and Iowa State rolled to its third straight victory, beating Oklahoma State.
Hallie Christofferson added 15 points for Iowa State (16-5, 4-3 Big 12) and Anna Prins scored 14, all but two in the second half. After struggling offensively in their first four conference games, the Cyclones have topped 70 points in their last three, the first time they’ve put a string like that together in league play since 2005.
Oklahoma State (13-7, 1-6) got a career-high 24 points from 6-foot-6 freshman Vicky McIntyre. McIntyre made 10 of 17 shots with a variety of post moves, but her teammates shot just 11-for-45.
Bolte made only 5 of 20 shots and was 0-for-7 from 3-point range a 71-56 victory over Missouri last Saturday.
