James Franklin will be the No. 1 quarterback heading into spring practice for the Missouri Tigers.
That means nothing as to who will be taking the snaps Sept. 3 against Miami (Ohio) at Faurot Field.
"We just don't slide the next guy up," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said Wednesday afternoon. "Nobody inherits it."
Franklin, a freshman this season, along with redshirt freshmen Ashton Glaser and Tyler Gabbert, will handle the quarterbacking duties in the spring. The trio will be joined in the summer by Corbin Berkstresser, a Lee's Summit High School product who was part of the recruiting class released Wednesday.
