The Salvation Army in Jefferson City still needs $71,000 in donations to meet this year’s Red Kettle goal.

The goal represents the minimum funding needed to support the local services and programs for the next year.

Donations remain in Jefferson City. Human services include food, clothing and emergency housing.

The kettle drive will end today, but Christmas donations will still be accepted after the kettles are picked up. Donations after today may be sent to the Salvation Army, 927 Jefferson City, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

I understand why the Salvation Army still does the bell ringers, but the group needs to really start finding a new avenue of collections technics. At least 80% of consumers don't carry cash or coin anylonger. So we don't have any money to put in the read kettle.
