Council to consider sewer fee increase

Rate would cover additional billing, collection expenses

Sewer customers could see an increase in the base rate on their sewer bill if the Jefferson City Council approves the measure Monday night.

The ordinance would increase the base rate to cover additional billing and collection expenses once Missouri American Water stops billing city customers Jan. 1.

Seems Missouri American Water would have included in their billing all costs associated with billing and collection. Is this another money grab by the council?

Maybe the city council and city administrator, need to be a little more fiscally responsible. It seems they can't keep cost in line and, just keep adding or raising fees. That, and convincing people to approve new taxes, only to waste that money as well. Wake up Jefferson City. It is your right and duty to question these people and their practices.

Sewer fee increase ? Transfomation sales tax.? Eastside Wal-Mart sales tax ? JC fuel surcharge? Yep, JC folks are just hoarding way too much of their money. JC Council, Convention and Visitors Bureau, and JC Chamber of Commerce can do a much better job of spending our money if we would just give it to 'em. Big of 'em to let us keep some of it.

Why the increase? Also tell me why the city see's $.50 increase and the county people see $1.50 increase? What's the reason for this happening?

I agree wow. Why the increase for one and why is the county going to have to pay 3x's the amount that the city pays? This cost increase is suppose to balance out since MO-AM is no longer going to bill the CITY residents. I have nothing to do with MO-AM and never did since i live in the county. Shouldn't this only effect city residents?

Don't forget the huge school tax to build a new high school!

BTW: Think MO-AM will give us a rate reduction of $0.50?

I think it may be time for us to think about legal action against the city council, things i see going on would be liable in the private sector .Ambulance tax(misappropriation of funds) Chamber of Commerce tax (conflict of interest, most are members or were) minipulation of votes(their pet tax increases voted on single ballots, were turnout averages .07%) Voting doesn't work, same type of people keep running. Make them each financially liable for their actions.Found out in life you can talk untill your blue in the face, the won't hear you, hit them in the wallet they here you every time.
