A public hearing has been set for Sept. 7 on a request by the owner of Isla del Sol Condominiums to fund the construction of a causeway from the end of Knox Road to the island near Rocky Mount at the Lake of the Ozarks.
The hearing, which is set for 10 a.m. Sept. 7 in the Miller County Courthouse in Tuscumbia, seeks to form a Community Improvement District (CID) to fund the construction of the causeway.
The condominiums' owner, Rockwood Bank, of Eureka, claims connecting the island to the shoreline would save island residents time and ferry fees, and make the condo project more attractive to potential buyers.
