LU, Linn State release preliminary enrollments
Thursday, August 25, 2011
Classes started this week at Lincoln University and Linn State Technical College. Both schools are anticipating enrollment increases.
Scott Peters, Linn State’s associate director of development, on Wednesday said the two-year school’s first-week enrollment was “steady, with 1,188 students enrolled for fall classes.” Last fall, enrollment was at 1,176.
“The enrollment number will likely increase with students still registering for classes this week,” Peters said.
Misty Young, LU’s university relations director, said: “If current projections hold, we are looking at a 2.5 percent to 3 percent increase over last fall, which would put enrollment between 3,430 and 3,450 students.”
Both schools noted their numbers could change, and their official census counts won’t come until next month.
