University of Missouri chancellor Brady Deaton released a statement Saturday to clarify comments he made to reporters Friday regarding the vetting process during the hiring of Missouri basketball coach Frank Haith.
The Columbia Tribune reported Deaton said Missouri officials were aware when they hired Haith there were possible allegations against the Miami football program, but they were unaware the problems would stretch into Miami’s basketball program.
On Saturday, Deaton said Missouri was not aware of any allegations at the time Haith was hired.
