Websites for Mo. hacking victims mostly back up
Monday, August 8, 2011
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Missouri sheriff websites hacked by the group of hackers known as Anonymous are mostly back up.
Anonymous said in a statement that it had hacked into about 70 mostly rural law enforcement websites and stolen 10 gigabytes worth of data in retaliation for the arrests of its sympathizers in the U.S. and Great Britain. The group said the stolen information included emails and credit card numbers.
The hacking victims included five county sheriffs in Missouri along with the Missouri Sheriffs Association. The association’s website remained down on Monday, but sites for sheriff’s departments in Cape Girardeau, Johnson, Lincoln, Polk and Stone counties were up and running.
Stone County Chief Deputy Rich Anderson says no security was compromised and hackers did not obtain any critical information.

Hey NT Editor what about the e-mail conversation? Ya know, the report of questionable comments made on the Missouri Sheriff's Association website....ya know "the coon in the white house comments" reportedly made by Cole County/Jefferson City Officials. What happened to the information on the link to check this out? Not trying to start a mess, but this inquiring mind wants a chance to check things out.

turns out the comments came from another county to the msa. this topic is already being discussed in length on the web and you could find the emails easy enough just by googling them

If you have a web address, e-mail it to me at rbrown@newstribune.com, since I don't want to link to pages that contain personal information like passwords or social security numbers. The description of the rumor keeps changing. I've found and searched the site the hackers use to post material, and I've read some of the hijacked mail posted there, but it wasn't included in what I was able to find. So again, just e-mail me the web address of it if you've seen it. Thanks.

yes I asked on that forum how they found that email buried in all the other emails. apparently someone has a program looking for keywords that rooted it out.
