Thieves hit 3 dozen cars
Friday, August 5, 2011
Jefferson City authorities are urging residents to be more vigilant in locking up vehicles after four juveniles and one adult were arrested early Thursday morning in connection with three dozen thefts from motor vehicles overnight.
According to police reports, all of the vehicles —with the exception of one — were left unlocked by their owners. The locations of the thefts include the southeast part of Jefferson City on Bald Hill Road, Deer Trail, Copperstone Court and Brady Drive.
Charges of felonious receiving stolen property and misdemeanor receiving stolen property are being sought on the four juveniles. One juvenile also faces an additional charge of property damage; another faces a charge of possession of paraphernalia.
The adult was released, and no charges were submitted.

These kids have been repeatedly gotten into trouble for vandalizing the neighborhood. This is not the first time they have broken into cars and stolen things. After the previous actions they did not get any meaningful punishment, and I do not anticipate that they will get any meaningful punishment for their latest offenses. Sending them to Juvi is a waste of time. They need to be publically caned for their offenses.
