FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Marvin Chavez scored in the 26th minute to lead Dallas to a 1-0 win over Chivas USA on Sunday in Major League Soccer.
Ruben Luna directed a pass to Chavez, who fired a right-footed shot from 8 yards away that bounced off Chivas defender Heath Pearce's leg and into the center of the net for his fourth goal of the season.
Dallas kept its opposition scoreless at home for the third straight match.
Chivas did not even have a shot until the 33rd minute when Blair Gavin sent an attempt wide to the right.
Chavez had a goal disallowed in the 59th minute when he was ruled offside.
Dallas' Ricardo Villar almost scored in the 76th when he curled a shot from 15 yards away forcing Chivas keeper Dan Kennedy to make a diving save to his right.
