With a little more than a month left before the state championships, the Jefferson City and Helias track and field teams want to see just where they stand.
The Capital City Relays should prove to be a more than adequate test.
“It’s always a good event,” Jefferson City coach Dan Ridgeway said as his teams prepared to host the event at 11 a.m. today at Adkins Stadium. “It’s kind of a mid-season measuring stick. We see some teams where this is the only time of year we see them, so it’s somebody different.”
Helias is excited about the level of competition on both the boys and girls sides.
“It looks like it is going to be a great meet,” Helias coach Tom Emmel said.
A total of 12 teams will compete in traditional events, along with others that break from the norm.
