Kite Day fun, even without wind

The lack of wind turned Kite Day into an additional play day for those attending.

The annual Kite Day on Tuesday was for children from area daycare centers. However, with the lack of wind, organizers helped those they could get their kites off the ground while others took advantage of the play area at the Southwest Early Childhood Center.

Donna Scheidt, director of Jefferson City Day Care, said Week of the Young Child activities helped to reinforce that keeping children active is vital.
