WAYNESVILLE - The Jefferson City Jays opened the season Thursday by blanking Waynesville 9-0.
Winning their singles matches for the Jays were Blake Folz (8-0), Evan Hasty (8-1), Sam Johnson (8-2), Tanner Bone (8-0), Tyler Broermann (8-1) and Ian Murphy (8-1).
Hasty and Bone won their doubles match 8-0, while Folz and Murphy won 8-1 and Johnson and Broermann won 8-0.
The Jays return to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Missouri Military Academy.
