Playing on Sunday has landed the Jefferson City Jays in a time machine.

"We try to get on a schedule so the players feel like the game is still on Friday," Jays coach Ted LePage. "(Wednesday) was Monday for us and (today) will be Tuesday, leading up to Sunday, which will be Friday."

OK, if Wednesday was Monday, what was Monday?

"Saturday."

Then what was Saturday?

"I don't know, I confuse myself with it," LePage said with a laugh. "I look at my wife and ask her, 'What day is it?' But that's how you have to do it."

The Jays will be the middle game of the City of Champions Classic on Sunday at East St. Louis High School , as they'll square off with the St. Rita (Chicago) Mustangs at 4 p.m.
