Rogersville man sentenced on molestation charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri man has pleaded guilty to child molestation and sodomy charges.

The Springfield News Leader reports that Adam Corbine of Rogersville was given to 14-year sentences as part of a plea agreement.

Corbine was originally charged with six sex crimes against three girls. The charges related to two of the girls were waived as part of a plea agreement.

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Ami Miller recommended the two 14-year sentences without the possibility of probation.

Carbine's lawyer, Michael Stanfield, argued that Carbine had no other criminal history and should have been given probation. Stanfield said Carbine would benefit from treatment at a group home, but said he couldn't find one in the state that would be able to take him in.
