Death of homeless man a homicide

COLUMBIA (AP) — Columbia police say they are investigating the death of a homeless man as a homicide.

The body of 52-year-old Jerry Schneider was found Sunday morning at a homeless camp.

Columbia police spokeswoman Jill Wieneke says investigators have not determined a suspect in the death. She says Schneider’s face and head were bloody but he was not shot.
